The Uganda-EU Business Insights 2025, was held in February focusing on the theme "Agricultural Technology & Sustainable Mining."

The event in Kampala highlighted investment opportunities in Uganda's Agricultural Technology (AgTech) sector to promote sustainable mining practices.

The forum, part of the Sustainable Business for Uganda (SB4U) platform, was attended Ministers Hon. Mwebesa (Trade) and Mr. Matia Kasaija (Finance).

Five companies, including Kimco Coffee, Equator Chocolate, and Marakwet Farm/Cocomata Chocolate, attended the exhibition with support from EU-EAC MARKUP II programme, from coffee, cocoa, and horticulture sectors.

Prisca L. Beesigomwe, Head of Operations and Programs at HortiFresh, said: "I connected with various value chain actors in sectors such as coffee and mechanization, expanding potential synergies for future projects. The experience reinforced the importance of such forums in fostering dialogue, partnerships, and industry growth."

Organized by the EU in collaboration with Uganda's government, the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), Uganda Chamber of Mines, and Financial Technology Service Providers’ Association (FITSPA), it was an industry-driven platform for fostering investment and export growth. It also supported the Team Europe Initiative, which aims to accelerate sustainable business partnerships between Uganda and the EU.

As part of the conference, EU-EAC MARKUP II sponsored two exhibition booths, providing MSMEs and Business Support Organizations (BSOs) a platform to showcase their products.

This event provided participants the opportunity to explore new synergies and business collaborations.
