MARKUP II’s both drew steady interest from SMEs across the spice, avocado, coffee and wider agribusiness sectors, all keen to understand how better packaging could open doors to new markers. The booth also attracted visits from Senior Tanzanian government officials; including from the Permanent Secretary and Minister of Industry of Trade Director Dr. Ashura Katunzi. At Interplast Pack East Africa, MARKUP II carried the same message to a dedicated packaging-industry audience, across three days.
Across both events, one instrumental tool was amplified; the East African Packaging Directory, which connects SMEs with verified packaging manufacturers and service providers across the region. For many SMEs and packaging suppliers visiting the booth; this served as their first introduction to the Packaging Directory; and their feedback highlights the growing demand for practical packaging solutions that are responsive to SME needs.
